Empty AAV Particles Empty AAV particles are created using only the essential components for AAV replication, such as Rep, Cap, and helper. These particles are completely devoid of any genetic material, resulting in entirely empty capsids. Unlike typical AAV vectors, they do not contain any therapeutic transgene.
